Anyone know why it got left off DP8? Know where I can find it? Thx!

BTW, just listened to the Dancing in the Streets from that night. It really is a cut above even the other great performances of Dancing from 70.

not to hijack this thread but I would like to challenge anyone to find a better CRS that 10-20-74, the one on Steal Your Face. Seriously. I have NEVER found one more together with more feeling. The whole band/each member adds so many little nuancesthat make this oone many cuts above imo.

It's actually been awhile since I've heard that one, not having the CD, but try 1-10-70 and 10-30-70 for a good time.

Hi Lou,

I agree, Harpur is one of the greatest shows ever!

Here is the Cold Rain for you, in vault quality sound, courtesy of David Lemieux...

Hey Cliff--thanks a bunch! I knew this was the place to ask.

I love that Taper's Section (April 30). The run starting with The Monkey and The Engineer is classic stuff. A great Dancin from 5/6, and a few great Pig performances.

That page itself is worthy of a commercial release (or it was).

it was left off because Dick felt that it was too out of tune...funny and true...(you can hear Garcia and Weir tuning strings at the beginning during the intro, some out of tuneness during the song, but I like this version anyway)

Okay, now I see why they left it off DP8. But would it have killed them to tack it onto the end of disc 2? If patrons didn't feel like listening to Jerry tune his guitar with bass/drum accompaniment, they could just move on to disc 3.

No worries Lou, it will be on the Dicks Picks #8 re-release, to be issued in 2013, well before 8/27/72 or 11/11/73 ever get released!
